The Forgotten Coast – A Tapestry of Healing and Art
The Forgotten Coast, spanning Wakulla, Franklin, Gulf, and Bay counties, is my family’s sanctuary. From Shell Point’s dolphin-filled bays to Alligator Point’s quiet shores, Cape San Blas’s dunes, Carrabelle’s rustic charm, and Port St. Joe’s serene beaches, we’ve explored these gems countless times. Named for escaping developers’ reach, this coast’s untouched beauty inspires my Van Gogh-style landscape paintings. As a breast cancer survivor, I find healing in its tranquil waves, echoed in my Patient Story interview here.
Yesterday’s painting (below, left), sparked by a recent visit (below, right), captures the coast’s radiant skies—brighter in person than any photo. I love painting light bursting through clouds, its brilliance shining. This piece, with vivid blues and greens, joins my Oceans and Moons series and new landscapes. The Forgotten Coast blends healing and creativity for me. See photos and shop my note cards (20% off this week!) or logo paintings at HoneyHilliardArt.com (https://honeyhilliardart.com).
