My work is usually bold and vibrant with bright layers of colors, though I sometimes feel a need to swing back to muted, subtle compositions. I find inspiration everywhere: nature, fashion, food, clouds, sky, ocean, mountains, sunsets and sunrises. When something makes me feel compelled and intrigued, I make notes in the tiny notebook I always carry, and snap pics on my phone, then try to get in studio as quickly as possible to paint. My newest fascination is aerial drone photography, which is the basis of a whole new collection of paintings. I switch from petite paintings to large scale, with the largest canvas that will fit in my car maxing out at 48 x 60, which I find a perfect size to be the focal point of a room.
A thread of continuity in my work is celebration of the sacredness and joy of life. At least I hope this comes through in my art. I believe art can have immense power and influence in the space it encompasses. I try to encapsulate energies of uplift, empowerment, wonder and love in my paintings.
